Most of the above information is taken from The Blue Book, 6th Edition, compiled by the American Scouting Historical Society, with a few additions and expansions. Border refers to the color and style of the patch's edge (if the embroidery is rolled or flat, or if the patch material is cut outside the embroidery). Background is the predominant color of the background embroidery or the patch material (if visible); multi-colored means there is not predominant color. Name color refers to the color of the lodge's name as it appears on the patch. FDL/BSA refers to the color of the proprietary Scouting mark used on the patch; if there is none (mostly in patches older than 1975) this is left blank. This could be a fleur-di-lis, scout sign, BSA, or Boy Scouts of America spelled out. It does not refer to the color of the WWW, if present. The Description attempts to give enough information to differentiate one patch from another if the other details aren't sufficient.
